The Avionics Apprentice must accurately troubleshoot, repair and perform scheduled maintenance on all airplanes, as well as perform inspections as required by the FAA.
Principle Accountabilities
Perform inspections, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, project installations and modifications to any aircraft assigned to support.
Fabricate and/or modify electronic enclosures, panels, circuit boards and wire harnesses for applications. Work quality shall be to the acceptable level for aircraft installations where applicable.
Support testing by efficiently operating equipment and ensuring accurate results and records. Provide technical assistance and resolution when electrical or engineering problems are encountered before, during, and after testing.
Follow established quality assurance procedures with regard to all work performed on and associated with aircraft.
Installations, troubleshooting and repairs of avionics systems and components on General Aviation, Turbo Prop and Light Jet airframes in timely, clean, safe and professional manner.
Demonstrates effective repair techniques using acceptable practices including splicing, soldering and pinning or wire. Sets up and operates necessary test equipment.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are primarily Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm with a one hour unpaid lunch. However, evening and weekend shifts may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
Some travel will be required as requested by customers. Traveling includes overnight stays outside of the normal working location.
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
Airframe and Powerplant Certificate and/or five years of Avionics experience.
Minimum five years of aircraft-related experience or have demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform all job tasks.
Extensive knowledge of all aircraft mechanical systems functions and interactions. Thorough working knowledge of all current FAA regulations, IPM and ATA codes.
Preferred Education and Experience
A&P Certificate
3+ years in a related discipline or;
A combination of education and experience equivalent to above
Other Hiring Requirements
Valid Driver’s License.
Must provide U.S. Citizen status upon first day of employment.
Must pass a DOT/FAA regulated drug screening.
