AVL Production Tech

The AVL Production role exists to provide technical support and production leadership for events at Central Wesleyan Church. This position covers all aspects of show production – including audio, video, lighting, graphics, and general AVL systems – while ensuring a smooth and distraction-free worship and event experience. Hours vary week to week depending on the event calendar. Some weeks will exceed 40 hours

Primary Responsibilities:

Event Production

• Oversee and execute all technical elements for church events, including:

• Recurring services/events such as Sunday morning chapel worship gatherings and Monday night

Celebrate Recovery

• Special services and events such as weddings, funerals, conferences, seasonal productions, and outreach events.

• Operate or coordinate operators for audio mixing, video systems, lighting control, and ProPresenter graphics.

• Plan, gather, and prepare all media and event content ahead of time.

• Communicate with pastors, ministry leaders, and event coordinators to ensure technical needs are met.

Technical Support & Maintenance

 • Provide basic repairs, equipment replacements, and troubleshooting of AVL systems across campus.

• Assist with special projects, such as:

-Hanging curtains or scenic elements. 

-Designing/implementing creative technical solutions (e.g., custom footswitches for stage control).

• Ensure equipment is maintained, updated, and ready for use.

Teamwork & Leadership

• Work closely with church staff, volunteers, and contract labor to execute events.

• Provide training, guidance, and support for volunteer operators when needed.

• Contribute to a collaborative, servant-hearted culture where technical excellence supports the church’s mission. 

 Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of live audio, video, lighting, and graphics (ProPresenter).

• Experience in event production and technical planning.

• Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve under pressure.

• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and extended hours as events require.

• Creative, resourceful, and comfortable with hands-on technical projects.

• Team-oriented with good communication skills.

• Alignment with the mission, vision, and values of Central Wesleyan Church.
