We are currently seeking an experienced AFATDS AXS Integration Tester to join our dynamic team. The primary focus of this role will be on the integration testing of the next iteration of the Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System, known as AFATDS AXS. This position will ensure its seamless operation and compatibility within various military environments, specifically working in conjunction with the Command Post Computing Environment (CPCE) including Data Fabric, Mounted Computing Environment (MCE), Mounted Mission Command (MMC), Joint Battle Command Platform (JBC-P), and other Mission Command networks and systems. This position can be performed remotely, but occasional travel to NJ will be expected.

General Job Duties:

  • Lead the integration testing efforts for AFATDS AXS, including planning, execution, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with software developers and system engineers to understand integration points and technical requirements for interfacing with CPCE, Data Fabric, MCE, MMC, and JBC-P.
  • Design and conduct robust test scenarios to verify system functionality and interoperability with these systems and broader Mission Command networks.
  • Identify, document, and troubleshoot integration issues, providing detailed feedback to development teams.
  • Ensure compliance with military standards and operational requirements during testing phases, particularly focusing on standards like 6017A, 6017C, MIL2525C, and 2045-47001C.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Working knowledge of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC)
  • Ability to develop effective software test plans and software test strategy documentation
  • Familiarity with professional software engineering practices for the full software development life cycle, including requirements elicitation, coding standards, code reviews, source control management, agile development, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Experience with Atlassian (JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence).
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a fast-paced collaborative environment
  • Passionate about learning new technologies, tools, and platforms
  • Ability to take guidance and execute in a self-motivated manner
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to effectively identify software failures and root causes.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate software applications and data to deduce quality improvements.
  • Experience with security testing methodologies to identify vulnerabilities in software applications.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with Army test lab environments

Desired Skills and Competencies:

  • Active security clearance.
  • Experience participating in Army integration events such as Network Integration Evaluation (NIE), Project Convergence (PC), and various Mission Command Risk Reduction Events (RREs).
  • Familiarity with Army Mission Command Systems including CPCE, Data Fabric, MCE, MMC, and JBC-P.
  • SQL Database experience
  • JMeter, Neoload, or similar load testing
  • Understanding of REST and SOAP
  • Performance metrics collection and reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to create and manage an automated test suite
  • Familiar with Test Management Tools such as TestLink, Zephyr, TestRail, etc.
  • Military Standards including 6017A, 6017C, MIL2525C, and 2045-47001C
  • TCP, UDP, and other Networking Protocols
  • Military Networks including WIN-T, BFT2, and LAN
  • VMWare Administration
  • Microsoft Windows Server Administration

Required Education and Experience:

  • BS in Computer Science or a related field, with 5 years of relevant experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with respect to all the above requirements.
