Job Description - B2B Champion Sales Associate

General Summary

The B2B Champion is responsible for leading B2B growth within the store. The person in this role will keep B2B top of mind to achieve B2B sales goals. The successful applicant will also work in the store as a sales associate.  Full participation in all activities on the floor are expected including but not limited to putting away freight, assisting customers, shelf maintenance, and carry outs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage and lead B2B within the store. Sign up new customers as well as work with existing customers to increase their sales.

• Acquire new B2B contacts in the market.  Spend time in the markets growing our presence after mastering sales within the store.

• Be able to update B2B Manager and other store personnel with results and growth.

•Provide a positive representation of Ace Hardware.

•Proactively assist customers in solving problems.

•Greet customers entering and throughout the store. Thank customers when finished and when they are leaving the store.

•Possess a friendly outgoing demeanor, work well with customers as well as associates.

•Ensure all pages and calls are answered promptly, courteously and effectively.

•Forward any customer complaint that cannot be handled to a member of management.

•Possess strong product knowledge and knowledge of store layout and location of products.

•Assist customers throughout the store with personal, customized service based on the premise of amazing every customer, every time.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Bachelor’s degree preferred.

• Minimum of 3 years in a retail or sales environment.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as being comfortable providing feedback and coaching.

• Ability to provide motivation and leadership to associates storewide in a fair and impartial manner.

• High degree of analytical skills, and the ability to delegate and be self-directed.

• Deep understanding of retail operations, inventory management and business fundamentals.

• Must have excellent attention to detail and follow up.

• Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.

• Technically skilled in basic retail computer systems including related software

• Comfortable with computers, various applications, technology, the internet.

• PC skills including knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook.

• Standing, walking, and lifting (up to 50 lbs.).

Work schedule

  • 8 hour shift
