Job Description - Backroom Material Handler, Weekend Shift
Eaton\u2019s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Backroom Material Handler, Weekend Shift. \n\nThe rate for this position is $18.11 per hour. The core hours are Friday through Sunday from 5:00 am to 5:00 pm. This role includes a weekend shift premium, providing 40 hours of pay for a 36\u2011hour schedule. \n\nThis position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.\n\nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nIn the Material Handler role, you are responsible for receiving and issuing raw materials, assemblies, sub\u2011assemblies, tools, and supplies, as well as forwarding all required documentation to computer services for data entry. You also support planners and buyers with material\u2011availability processes and prepare finished products and raw materials for boxing, packing, and shipping as needed.\n\n * Contribute to a safe, engaged and inclusive work culture by complying with all policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment, and performing 5S duties.\n * Use a variety of material handling equipment and hand tools to unload and load trucks arriving or leaving from receiving area and for placing material in the proper bin location or delivering material to the wok centers.\n * Identify opportunities for process improvement as well as complete root cause analysis in response to issues with quality or production.\n * Responsible for quality, including visual inspections of material before shipping, identifying nonconforming parts, and troubleshooting errors.\n * Cross train and stand in for other employees/job functions when necessary.\n * Use supply chain tracking systems to maintain inventory\n * Operate a forklift to move/load material and/or Gear\n * Operate a Gantry style overhead crane for loading/shipment of Gear\n * Other duties as assigned \n\n\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nRequired (Basic) Qualifications:\n\n * High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required.\n * 3 months of operating a powered industrial truck (forklift)\n * No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Greenwood, SC will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.\n * Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc. \n\n\n\n \nPreferred qualifications:\n\n * 3 months of industrial manufacturing experience\n * 3 months of experience using hand and pneumatic (air) tools\n * South Carolina Manufacturing Certification (SCMC) or equivalent\n\n\n\nPosition Criteria\n\n * Flexible with work hours and available for overtime as needed to support the organization.\n\n * Strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive abilities, and analytical problem\u2011solving skills.\n * Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups within a team\u2011oriented environment.\n\n\n\nPhysical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation):\n\n * Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach at or above shoulder level, grip, and use hands to handle or feel objects and materials.\n * Frequently required to stoop and perform tasks involving lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to or exceeding 50 pounds.\n * Vision requirements include near and far vision, depth perception, and color distinction.\n\n\n\nWork Environment:\n\n * Regular exposure to noise while performing job duties.\n * Frequent exposure to dust in the work area.\n\n\n\n \nAll positions may require participation in video and in-person interviews as part of the hiring process.
