Responsibilities:

• Oversee department targets and controls, monitor shift operations and productivity. Maximize the efficiency of the department and ensure daily production plan targets are available for Operations.
• Ensure effective communications at all levels and complete all necessary administrative work.
• Actively resolve problems team members raise to you. Provide positive feedback and constructive criticism to help build their confidence and to develop their skills.
• Direct supervisors with respect to production volume, quality, cost and meeting production schedules and delivery dates.
• Train and develop supervisors to provide management depth and develop teamwork to attain department objectives.
• Review daily production schedule to plan work and personnel assignments.
• Ensure compliance with Technical and Quality standards as identified on Product Specifications, to isolate and address any non-conformances and monitor measures designed to maintain and improve standards within the department.
• Monitor and confirm that machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained and sanitized.
• Maintain good employee relations and adherence to labor contract provisions.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required
• Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in processing plant industry
• Ability to oversee entire Bacon floor production, possessing extensive knowledge and technical skill in a variety of production jobs
• Extensive knowledge of product
• Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally. Interaction with USDA and Union is expected
• Ability to work 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift as necessary
• Bi-lingual helpful, but not required
• Strong attendance and safety records
