JOB RESPONSIBILITIES SUMMARY: Responsible for the day to day operation of a reception desk or door entrance to a secure building on a military facility. Answers and responds to phone calls and e-mail messages. Checks credentials for persons entering the building, and ensures that visitors are verified and annotated on a log book, and ensures that visitors are escorted into the building by the appropriate individual designed as their escort.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Greets visitors at front door or from reception desk at assigned building.
Ensures that persons entering the building have adequate credentials.
For visitors without credentials, ensures that individuals show identification (photo ID), and sign the visitors log.
Contacts staff person in the building by phone who will be escorting the visitor into the building.
Ensures that visitors exiting the building sign out on the log, and return their visitor’s pass.
Reads and responds to e-mails from supervisors and customers
Being proficient in English (oral and written communications)
Interact with co-workers, other professionals, and interested parties in a professional manner.
Prepare correspondence as directed to include typing, editing, logging, and filing.
Respond to routine telephone calls/requests; refer calls, visitors and incoming correspondence to the appropriate person
Utilize Microsoft Office software programs and specific government required software
Comply with organizational Operations Security and Information Security requirements
Arrive on time and ready to work assigned schedule
Provide high level of customer service to all patrons, coworkers, and other interested parties
Take direction, interact and maintain open communication with supervisor / lead
Must be able to obtain/maintain a secret-level security clearance
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Adequate hearing required for conversation, telephone use, and emergency information systems.
Ability to independently mobile on all surfaces and situations
Ability to move safely about work area.
Ability to retrieve items from high and low areas
Ability to perceive size, discrimination, temperature, shapes, and/or textures
Physical stamina to work at least 8 hours per day.
