The ACAA’s Baggage System Technician will report to the Maintenance Supervisor - Airline Services and assumes responsibility for performing manual tasks for the Airline Services department.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; climb or balance at multiple heights; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in close quarters. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, taste, and/or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts, aircraft, heavy equipment and vehicles. The employee is exposed to all types of outside weather conditions, is frequently exposed to lights, noise, fuels and chemicals associated with aircraft and heavy equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud. Employee may be assigned or scheduled to work all shifts at a 24/7 operation, seven days a week including holidays; pass days will vary. Subject to remain on duty beyond assigned working hours to provide assistance during extenuating circumstances.
Medical Examination
Employment is contingent upon the results of a post-offer (initial employment or promotion) physical examination performed by the Authority’s examining physician.
Drug Testing
Employment is contingent upon the results of a post-offer (initial employment or promotion) drug screening. Continued employment may be subject to drug and alcohol testing conducted without advance notice and without individualized suspicion.
Pre-Employment Investigation
Must pass a thorough investigation, consisting of a criminal history check (including but not limited to the requirements of CFR 1542.209 and 1542.3), verification of prior employment and performance, reference and credentials checks.
