Baker

Great Western Dining at our Pratt Community College location is looking for a skilled and passionate Baker/Server to prepare a wide range of baked goods including breads, pastries, cookies, and specialty items.  The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking and providing excellent customer service. This role involves preparing baked goods and serving customers in a friendly and efficient manner.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and bake a variety of bread, pastries, and desserts according to recipes and quality standards
• Ensure all baked goods are fresh and presented attractively
• Serve customers with a positive attitude, taking orders and providing recommendations
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the baking and serving areas
• Assist in inventory management and restocking supplies as needed
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations
• Other duties as required & assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

• One two years as a baker or a bakery background preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; formal culinary or baking training preferred.
• Knowledge of yeasts and other pre-ferments encouraged.  
• Must be customer service oriented and enjoy working in a student-oriented environment.
• Must be dependable and reliable. 
• The ability to make desserts from scratch. 
• Experienced in production line baking or food processing.  
• Must be knowledgeable about proper food handling and safety guidelines.   
• Must be detail oriented with the ability to perform simple mathematical calculations and follow directions for equipment and recipe production.
