Essential Functions: 

We are specifically looking for a Bakery Specialist to help assist our most successful sales area in overall equipment sales (Southern California, Las Vegas, and Hawaii), the person for this role must live in Southern California. We are looking for an experienced Baker that should come to our team with a team player mentality and be interested in building relationships with our customers to understand how we can provide more capital equipment solutions to their operations. You should expect to travel throughout the West Region and Nationally to be trained by our team and learn the role from people who have been successful with the company. 

Bakery Specialists are Reiser work closely with our customers to ensure customer recipes, formulating and reformulation of ingredients are meeting customers’ expectations that our equipment is properly installed and working correctly. It is pivotal that we find someone who can build credibility and relationships with our customers in every corner of the bakery and confectionery market and be a trusted party in the sales process. Over time, you could learn more about selling but it is crucial to know that a team-selling approach is what we are looking for. Whoever comes to the team will be looked to as the lead Bakery based expert and consult with their sales representatives (1 Local Representative, 1 Sales Manager, 1 Regional Manager). This would include following up with customers after trade shows, customer on site visits (scheduled, and impromptu), traveling to Reiser HQ in Canton, MA for Factory Acceptance Testing and helping pursue emerging markets in Tortillas, Pizza, Ethnic foods by attending industry events, networking and equipment trials.

Job Duties may include but are not limited to: 

• Travel across the region (Southern California, Hawaii, and Las Vegas) to customers in small to large scale operations, plants, and headquarters of baking companies located in a defined sales region or territory. 
• Responsible for the oversight of installations and will be required to be on site as needed.
• Coordinate and assist with Field Service Technicians or Bakery Technicians to successfully install machinery and gain feedback from internal and external customers to assist in further machine development opportunities.      
• Identify sales opportunities and collaborate with Regional Sales Managers, Field Sales Managers, Field Sales Representatives, Account Sales Representatives, and other Bakery Specialists.
• Work closely with customers throughout the installation process.
• Perform recipe manipulation and troubleshooting, including formulation and reformulation of dough and other bakery, confectionery, or plant-based products.
• Be actively involved with sales industry associations.
• Complete sales reports and ensure documentation and reports are accurate and are received on time.
• Travel to Reiser Headquarters to perform Factory Acceptance Testing with Customers in our Customer Center
• Entertain customers as necessary, with or without a Sales Representative present.
• Follow up on leads of all varieties including leads distributed from Trade Shows.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in culinary arts and 10+ years of bakery experience
• Recent prior experience working as a baker, preferably in large scale commercial/industrial settings with an understanding of high production bakeries
• Prior experience as a scratch baker and must know how to formulate and reformulate dough.
• Understanding of bakery manufacturing and a passion for the industry
• Proven sales ability and willingness to support Reiser Sales effort and team
• Basic to intermediate computer skills and knowledge
• Bi-Lingual in Spanish and / or German are a desired plus but not necessarily required for this role.

• Ability to learn and understand the machinery used in the bakery is necessary 
• Excellent networking skills and the ability to be comfortable in plants and headquarters as needed to develop key relationships 
• Be a sales-oriented self-starter, who understands the entire sales process and can actively participate in identifying the needs of our customers and the solutions to meet those needs
• Converse comfortably and effectively with people working on the shop floor to presidents of companies
• Clear communication skills with sales team and home office, both written and verbal. 
• Ability to work independently, prioritize work, and multi-task
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with all organizational levels is critical. 
• Accuracy and attention to detail are essential.
