Baler Operator - Forklift Experienced

Frankston Packaging is seeking a Baler Operator with forklift experience to join our team at our Frankston, TX, plant. The Baler Operator is responsible for preparing scrap and other waste paperboard for recycling by arranging the paperboard in banded bales and placing them in a trailer for transport to recycling facilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Load scrap/waste paperboard into the baler to yield compacted, banded bundles of paperboard for recycling.
• Load baled materials into a staged trailer for transport.
• Perform basic maintenance under the direction of the Die Cutting Manager.
• Perform general housekeeping functions in the baling room to minimize excess scrap and/or banding materials on floors.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
• Fax daily scrap counts to approved recycling company.

Remove all trash bags from the facility and keep all dumpster areas clean.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Baling Room is an area attached to the Die Cutting Department, containing two balers and one loading dock. Containers of scrap paperboard, or other waste paperboard, are delivered to the baling room to be compacted for recycling. The Baler Operator is responsible for all facets of compacting waste and scrap paperboard. The Baler Operator is responsible for communicating workflow status, issues, and any storage or safety concerns to management.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF POSITION
This position requires the ability to move among equipment and storage containers in the Baler Room. This position requires the ability to use a forklift and/or pallet jack to move scrap containers and baled waste. This position requires the ability to lean, reach, and lift to load waste into the baler (not to exceed 35 lbs.). There is a potential risk associated with this position, which could include strained or sore muscles due to strenuous physical activity.
