Job Description - Bankruptcy & Restructuring Paralegal

| $82,000 – $130,000 DOE

The Opportunity

A globally recognized law firm with over a century of practice is expanding its Insolvency & Restructuring group in New York. This role places you at the center of high-profile Chapter 11 reorganizations, distressed transactions, and cross-border insolvency matters alongside attorneys who handle some of the most complex restructuring cases in the country. If you thrive in high-stakes, document-intensive litigation and want your work to matter, this is that role.

Why You'll Love This Role

  • Competitive compensation: $82,000 – $130,000 depending on experience
  • Hybrid work arrangement at a prestigious Midtown NYC office
  • Full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage
  • Dependent care and health care flexible spending accounts
  • 401(k) with profit-sharing
  • Generous PTO, paid holidays, and a robust wellness program

Your Day-to-Day

  • Prepare, file, and manage pleadings, motions, affidavits, fee applications, and court documents across active federal bankruptcy cases
  • Monitor deadlines, hearings, and docket developments using PACER, ECF, and bankruptcy court systems
  • Administer claims processes — reviewing proofs of claim, reconciling claims, managing objections, and corresponding with creditors
  • Support first-day motions, disclosure statements, plans of reorganization, asset sales, and DIP financing transactions
  • Conduct legal and factual research on bankruptcy, secured transactions, and corporate restructuring matters
  • Manage document productions, e-discovery databases, and discovery responses in contested bankruptcy litigation
  • Assist with due diligence on corporate governance documents, financing agreements, lien searches, and distressed asset transactions
  • Prepare hearing binders, trial exhibits, and witness files for court appearances and evidentiary hearings
  • Coordinate with debtors, creditors, trustees, financial advisors, and investment bankers throughout restructuring engagements
  • Support cross-border insolvency and multinational restructuring matters as needed
  • Maintain case files, dockets, exhibits, and transaction documents in compliance with firm procedures and court rules

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree and/or ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in bankruptcy, restructuring, insolvency, or complex litigation — Big Law background strongly preferred
  • Solid command of Chapter 11 proceedings, bankruptcy court procedures, PACER, and electronic filing systems
  • Experience managing large-scale, document-intensive matters and complex case dockets
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Relativity, document management systems, and legal research platforms
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills across multiple concurrent high-priority matters

Ready to Apply?

This is a rare opportunity to join a firm where the restructuring work is genuinely complex and the cases carry real consequence. If your background is in Chapter 11 and you're ready to work at the highest level of the practice, we want to hear from you.

Your resume will never be submitted to any employer without your prior knowledge and consent. Great Bay Staffing Group holds all candidate information in strict confidence.
