Banquet Captain

The Kensington Hotel seeking an experienced and service-driven Banquet Captain to join our team. This role is essential in delivering exceptional guest experiences by overseeing banquet events from setup through execution. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a keen eye for detail, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to guide a team in a fast-paced environment. As a Banquet Captain, you will ensure that every event runs seamlessly, maintaining the highest standards of service while creating memorable experiences for our guests.  Full time hours available, open availability is necessary.  We offer a competitive benefits package including:

The successful candidate will:

Train & Supervise banquet staff in the completion of the assigned functions and set-up, as well as oversee the service and break-down functions in a safe manner.

Set up Banquet Room and serve food and/or beverages in a friendly, courteous and professional manner according to Graham Hotel Systems Hospitality high standards of quality.

Set up banquet room as instructed by Supervisor to include linen, serviceware and glassware.

Attend pre-meal meetings before events to learn function particulars and expectations.

Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly and courteous manner.

Serve the food and/or beverage to Supervisor’s expectations. Promptly remove dishes as guests complete each course and/or meal at the end of the meal or function.

Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages.

Replenish beverages as necessary, and check with guests for overall satisfaction.

Once banquet is complete, reset banquet room according to Supervisor’s specifications to ensure the readiness of the room for the following function.

Perform any other job related duties as assigned.
