Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Banquet Manager to lead our banquet operations and ensure flawless execution of all events. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional with a passion for hospitality, a commitment to excellence, and the ability to manage and inspire a team in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for setting and maintaining standard procedures such as: fair employment treatment, employee uniforms, and clubhouse standards.
  • Communicate on a daily basis with the Director of Operations and Banquets to ensure a coordinated effort aimed at providing a quality experience for the Club members and their guests.
  • Lead the daily pre-shift meetings to review the details on the Banquet Event Order (BEO)
  • Act with urgency, yet maintaining a calming presence
  • Prepare and implement training programs with the Director of Operations and Banquets for all incoming employees and develop follow-up training for existing employees
  • Continually look for opportunities to improve service, and learn and incorporate lessons from prior experiences, while representing the culture of Saucon Valley Country Club
  • Maintain a respectful and positive attitude with a “coaching style” that brings out the best in others
  • Lead by example as a “hands-on leader” and team builder who works side-by-side with the service staff, mentoring and developing the team
  • Responsible for the opening and closing duties of the team members, and holding them accountable for their duties. 
  • Promotes all club events
  • Responsible for effective execution of all events and tasks assigned on a daily basis
  • Ability to read, understand, and communicate all details written on the BEO, with the client and team members for the event
  • Clearly define the service techniques, equipment, and sequence of service to the team
  • Be an active leader in assisting the team with setting up all buffets, stations, and tables to standard
  • Train staff when necessary in the proper techniques of service
  • Build authority with the team to be able to take charge and direct them throughout the setup, execution, and break down of each event
  • Proactively identify and resolve problems, including suggesting changes to department processes, to maintain positive guest and team member relations
  • Assist in managing all Banquet operations, including guest service standards and initiatives, product quality, budgeting and forecasting, and policy/procedure implementation and enforcement
  • Assist in preparing team schedules and adjust them throughout the week to meet business demands and accommodate      vacation requests
  • Review daily banquet event orders and identify special requests, needs, set up or changes and convey those changes to all departments involved in set up and administration
  • Assist with the recruitment and selection of team members by reviewing applications and conducting interview

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in banquet or event management, preferably in a private club, luxury hotel, or fine dining setting.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple events simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering world-class service.
  • Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Knowledge of fine dining service standards, wine, and beverages is a plus.
