Bar Back / Support Staff

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Bar Back/ Support Staff Member at The Foundry Hotel Asheville, Curio Collection. in this role,, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficient operation of our bar and restaurant by assisting bartenders & servers with stocking and preparing the bar area. This is a full-time, hourly position plus tip out in the hospitality/restaurant industry located in beautiful downtown Asheville, North Carolina.

Responsibilities:

- Assist bartenders with stocking all necessary supplies for the bar area, including beverages, ice, garnishes, and glassware.
- Keep bar area clean and organized, including wiping down counters, tables, and equipment.
- Wash and polish glassware, and ensure it is properly stored.
- Ensure all bar equipment is functioning properly and report any issues to management.
- Help to prepare and mix ingredients for drinks, including juicing fruits and vegetables, and cutting garnishes.
- Retrieve and serve drinks to patrons in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Keep track of inventory and inform management when supplies are running low.
- Assist with closing duties, including restocking supplies and cleaning the bar area.

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a similar role in the hospitality/restaurant industry preferred.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to handle a fast-paced and demanding work environment.
- Knowledge of different types of alcoholic beverages and mixology preferred.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to lift and carry heavy objects on a regular basis.
