Who We Are 

JRDN Restaurant is Tower23 Hotel's 10,000 square foot award-winning contemporary oceanfront steak and seafood restaurant, featuring casually sophisticated cuisine for lunch + dinner daily, and weekend brunch. The restaurant entices guests with a California-fresh menu that can be experienced in the modern lounge or on the oceanfront terrace.   

JRDN Restaurant is currently seeking a Barback to join our team! The ideal candidate will have experience working in a high-volume, up-market restaurant or bar environment to continue the tradition of excellence and service for which JRDN is known. 

What You'll Do

• Deliver superior customer service to all customers by acting with a “customer comes first” attitude 


• Restock liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, glassware, ice, and other bar supplies as needed
  


• Assist bartenders with bar setup, breakdown, and preparation before, during, and after service
  


• Wash, polish, and organize glassware, bar tools, and other service equipment


• Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume


• Ability to completely answer food related questions from guests 


• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, storage areas, refrigerators, and surrounding workspaces


• Follow all applicable food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and responsible alcohol service policies


• Maintains regular and punctual attendance

What We're Looking For

• At least six (6) months of previous barback experience required


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 


• Well organized and detail oriented 


• Self-motivated and works with a sense of urgency


• Valid San Diego Food Handler's Card and Responsible Beverage Server training (or the ability to get one right after hire with company support)


• Flexible availability - must be able to work days, nights, weekends and holidays

PAY RATE: $17.75 per hour + tips
