The Crowne Plaza Union Station is seeking a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Barista to join our hotel coffee bar team. The Barista will prepare quality coffee, smoothies, and other beverages, provide warm and welcoming service to hotel guests and customers, maintain a clean and organized coffee bar, and help create a pleasant guest experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare and serve espresso drinks, brewed coffee, teas, smoothies, and other beverages according to established recipes and quality standards.
Greet hotel guests and customers with a friendly and professional attitude.
Take orders accurately and process cash and credit card transactions.
Maintain a clean, organized, and attractive coffee bar and guest area.
Set up the coffee bar before opening and complete closing duties at the end of each shift.
Prepare smoothies and ensure fresh ingredients are properly stored and stocked.
Restock coffee, milk, smoothie ingredients, syrups, cups, food items, and other supplies as needed.
Monitor inventory and communicate low-stock items to management.
Follow proper food-safety, sanitation, and cleanliness procedures.
Provide courteous service to hotel guests and assist with basic questions about the hotel and surrounding area.
Handle multiple orders efficiently while maintaining beverage quality and excellent customer service.
Assist with light food preparation, pastries, grab-and-go items, or breakfast service as needed.
Operate and properly clean espresso machines, grinders, blenders, brewers, and other beverage equipment.
Work cooperatively with hotel staff to ensure a positive guest experience.
Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous barista, coffee shop, restaurant, hotel, or customer-service experience preferred.
Friendly, positive, and professional personality.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
Ability to work independently and stay organized.
Comfortable handling cash and operating a point-of-sale system.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift approximately 25–30 pounds.
Food-handler certification is a plus, where required.
Barista or smoothie preparation experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
