Barista Shift Supervisor

The Shift Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Cafe Manager in maintaining a positive environment, providing fast and friendly service, and ensuring a quality experience for both our customers and team members. Shift supervisors assist in training, customer service, product knowledge and education, and enforcing safe work practices. This position directly supervises the barista positions and acts as the manager on duty in the absence of the Cafe Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintains a clean, organized and stocked environment and when necessary assists in the distribution of product shipments
• Establishes effective and positive communication amongst all team members
• Assists Cafe Manager in maintaining proper coverage and team member schedules ensuring that the store maintains customer service standards and team members adhere to meal and break policy
• Ensures all cash handling procedures are upheld
• Assists Cafe Manager in planning and executing all sales promotions effectively and efficiently
• Provides guidance and actively sets an example for team members, ensuring that all Standard Operating Procedures are maintained and followed
• Serves as role model for outstanding service and “owner” of the service initiative at the cafe during their shift
• Pro-active in solving customer problems and satisfying customers in various situations

Skills and Qualifications

• Knowledge on operating espresso machine and commercial coffee brewer
• Prior experience in coffeeshop/café
• Have excellent communication and customer service skills
• Prior management experience required
• Must be able to lift to 40lbs. and be able to work on your feet for extended periods of time
• Able to work flexible hours (i.e. – nights, weekends, holidays)
• Sense of Urgency is a must!

Pay
$17/hr. to start. 30-40hrs per week
