Job Opportunity: Bartender

Location: Little Ruby's Café, West Village, NYC
Compensation: $16.50/hour + tips (before tip credit)

Join our team at Little Ruby's Café in the heart of the West Village! We are seeking professional, courteous, and passionate Bartenders to provide an exceptional experience for every guest who walks through our doors.

Job Summary

The Bartender is responsible for crafting high-quality alcoholic beverages, taking guest orders, delivering top-tier hospitality, and maintaining a clean and organized bar environment. This role requires interaction with guests, team members, and supervisors to help create a warm and gracious service atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

Service Excellence

• Provide professional and welcoming service with a positive attitude
• Anticipate and accommodate guest needs throughout the bar and lounge experience
• Present menus, answer questions, and make thoughtful food and beverage recommendations
• Inform guests of specials and pricing, and be knowledgeable about dietary accommodations

Bar Operations

• Prepare and serve alcoholic beverages in accordance with regulations and company standards
• Accurately enter orders into the POS system and process payments
• Ensure timely delivery of food and beverages to guests at the bar
• Maintain a clean, stocked, and organized bar area throughout service
• Follow all opening, closing, and side-work procedures
• Monitor and maintain liquor inventory and communicate supply needs

Teamwork and Compliance

• Collaborate with FOH and BOH teams to ensure smooth operations
• Attend pre-shift meetings and training sessions regularly
• Follow Department of Health and company sanitation standards
• Report any issues or maintenance needs to management immediately

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of bartending experience in a high-volume restaurant, lounge, or bar
• Completion of in-house bartender training, Alcohol Awareness Certification, and Food Handler Certification
• Strong working knowledge of food and beverage menus
• Able to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
