Bartender

JOB SUMMARY:

Prepares drink orders received from guests and cocktail servers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Counts monies in cash register at the beginning and end of shift at the vault.
• Takes beverage orders from guests and cocktail servers.
• Mixes drinks in accordance with drink recipes.
• Collects payment from guests.
• Gives change to guests desiring to play video poker machines at the bar.
• Interacts with guests to provide good customer service and determines when guest(s) should not be served alcoholic beverages.
• Prepares paperwork at end of shift, logging any repairs, and documenting any incident or prob-lem.
• Collects cash from non-playing customers ordering drinks. Insures that comp’d guests are ac-tively playing in the casino and reports drink scammers to the CSM.
• Understands and complies with company policies regarding the comping of drinks to gaming customers.
• Follows all State and Local laws regarding alcoholic beverages. 
• Understands and complies with all gaming regulations; internal controls; and departmental poli-cies and procedures.
• Maintains a valid AES card.
• Occasionally required to perform cocktail server duties.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experi-ence.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and mainte-nance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
