JOB SUMMARY

The Bartender is responsible for providing the patrons with excellent service in a timely manner, assisting the beverage servers with orders to ensure quality guest service, and providing patrons with a favorable gaming experience.

ABOUT OAK GROVE RACING, GAMING, & HOTEL PROPERTY

 Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel (the “Property”) is a new facility in a high-traffic area in the heart of Oak Grove, Kentucky, and across the street from a large Army post, Fort Campbell.  The Property is 10 miles from Clarksville, TN, and less than 60 miles northwest of downtown Nashville, TN.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepares drinks correctly at the bar for patrons and for cocktail staff.


• Assisting with the cleaning of the bar area and assisting with inventory maintenance.     


• Ensure the safety and security of employees and guests                                                   .


• Responsible for performing “responsible alcohol service” with regard to patron limitations and pass any/all responsible alcohol service training.


• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Demonstrated record of successful interpersonal skills in regard to working with diverse people and levels of authority.


• Multi-task ability and able to complete all tasks with minimal supervision and show a sense of urgency, no matter what the business volume.


• Ability to cash-handle correctly.


• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, and body language.


• This position requires sufficient experience, education, and job knowledge to meet current business needs.


• Maintaining the accuracy of supplies, verification of quantities, and tracking backorders.


• Maintaining interpersonal working relationships among all personnel


• Oral and written communication skills


• Willingness to work flexible hours and handle high-pressure situations in an interruptive environment


• Available to work when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.


• Prior experience preferred.


• Able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license.
