Basketball Tech Ops Projects Lead

Salary Range: $57,383.00 - $76,509.00 USD

Reports To: Sam Bourne - Tech Ops Manager (Projects)

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Tech Lead to manage and oversee technical aspects of the basketball tracking product. The candidate will collaborate closely with the UK Product and Development teams in the design, creation and testing of new Basketball tracking software features and bug fixes. The Tech Lead will also provide feedback on improvements and ideas to the product team and liaise with product/project on new services. In certain circumstances the tech lead may need to highlight key technical updates to the wider basketball team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop a thorough knowledge of the Basketball product suite, including a strong understanding of how the core tracking, data delivery and officiating workflows function.

• Utilize a data driven approach to identify inefficiencies and shortcomings of the basketball tracking and officiating product, and collaborate with product and development teams in order to design suitable solutions.

• Collaborate with product and development teams in order to ideate and design solutions to problems, and new client requested features. 

• Work alongside the Tech Ops - Live Ops team to fully document, undertake relevant training sessions and oversee the roll out of new features and fixes.

• Create and execute testing for new features / releases, to validate expected/core tracking functionality for the UK / Development teams.

• Near-top level escalation for live software / product issues throughout the Basketball season(s).

• Taking action items from Basketball RCA calls, investigating them thoroughly, and providing feedback to either TechOps/Live Ops OR UK development team on root cause(s).

• Owning and driving forward the design and deployment of new / special initiatives such as (but not limited to) – new practice facility systems, integration with other systems, etc.

• Constantly looking to improve data quality by identifying and investigating anomalies and edge cases.

• Ensuring relevant data is collected and fed back for issue resolution

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise:

• Demonstrable technical problem solving experience from existing projects  

• Previous experience working on the existing project or similar projects as a technical guarantee or similarly technically focused role.  

• Strong understanding of company software and their operational use

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to investigate issues thoroughly

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $57,383.00 - $76,509.00. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for.  The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.

In addition to a competitive base salary, this position is also eligible for a limited benefits package including healthcare benefits (medical, dental, and vision)
