Available Shift:
Monday-Thursday, 2pm-12am
Total pay includes $28/hr base + 2nd shift premium of $3/hr. The base pay for this role may vary based on experience.
Job Summary:
The Batching Team Shift Supervisor provides day-to-day oversight and support to the Batching team. The Batching Team Shift Supervisor reports directly to the Batching Manager. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills and extensive knowledge of batching/cellar process and operations, process flow, and some automated cellar equipment.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide daily oversight and direction for the batching team
Ensure all paperwork and documentation is complete accurate and timely, this includes the following:
DAW usage and dissolved oxygen logs
CIP/SIP logs
Bulk Tank logs
Batching sheets
Wave
Digital Clipboard
Follow up on incomplete documentation and paperwork as needed
Collaborate with inventory team to ensure that ingredients are prepared, staged, and kitted according to SOPs, Food Safety and GMPs.
Provide guidance on corrective actions needed for out-of-specification (OOS) products, in collaboration with other supervisors, the Batching Manager, Cellar Manager, Brewing Manager and Quality team.
ABV, pH, and Gravity/Density corrections
Batch size adjustments for material shortages or over usage
Coordinate schedule changes and address special circumstances as they arise, in both:
Production Schedules
Staffing Schedules
Delegate responsibilities to achieve comprehensive goals beyond daily batching and processes, including:
Organization
Scheduled maintenance/CIP (ex: equipment, line and tank CIPs)
Prep for upcoming processes to ensure the batching team is highly efficient and can hit the ground running each day
Ensure team is working efficiently, with urgency and timeliness
Ensure all SOPs are created quickly for new processes, up-to-date, accurate and followed
Directly train or designate a trainer for all operators
Ensure that they understand their roles and responsibilities and can perform their duties safely and effectively and in adherence to SOPs.
Coach and develop team members to enhance their skills and abilities
Lead by example, fostering a positive, solution-oriented, and engaged work culture
Attend various weekly meetings in the absence of the Batching Manager and communicate relevant information to the team.
Maintain effective communication with other shift supervisors, production personnel, and management to ensure smooth production processes
Conduct oneself professionally and diplomatically in all interactions
Assist project managers in samples of in-process, batched liquid
Oversee parts and supplies inventory with the Batching Manager and Cellar Manager
Ensure all storage spaces are clean, organized and maintained
Day-to-day oversight of personnel needs and performance in collaboration with other supervisors
Responsible for general condition, organization and cleanliness of all batching/cellar team areas in conjunction with the cellar shift supervisors
Adheres and enforces all GMP, PPE and sanitation requirements of the brewery
Fulfill special projects assigned by the Batching Manager, Cellar Manager and Brewing Manager
Aligns and actively pursues the fulfillment of The Brewer Career Matrix items and tasks for both oneself and teammates
Adhere to all PPE and GMP requirements
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements
Required Skills and Abilities:
Ability to lift 55lbs and move 165lbs, as needed.
Ability to stand for an extended period of time.
Proficient in MS Office.
Basic troubleshooting skills in a brewing/manufacturing setting.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Time management skills.
Flexibility to work various shifts.
Ability to prioritize tasks.
Ability to function well in a high-paced environment.
Education and Experience:
2-3 years experience in a brewing environment, preferred.
