Bather

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform bathing services, including general cleansing, ear cleansing, nail trimming and medicated and parasite control baths, as requested for each pet.
• Bathe, dry, and brush dogs.
• Support and perform all general maintenance of dog wash / spa area; clean tubs, vacuum floor; mop floor daily; empty trash; clean clipper and brushes after use.
• Interact with pet parents in a friendly and professional manner, providing excellent customer service.
• Educate customers on home care. Recommend retail products that would aid in home grooming care of pets.
• Learn and follow policies, standards, and guidelines to ensure quality and consistency in all areas of the grooming business. 

Job Requirement

• Knowledge of bathing techniques for a variety of dog breeds.
• Enjoys working closely with other team members.
• Passion for animals and genuine interest in pursuing a career in pet grooming. 
• Basic knowledge of dog breeds, behavior, and common grooming practices 
• Actively promote bathing services while working. If not actively working on a pet, needs to be out on the floor talking to customers to actively promote bathing services.

Education and/or Experience

• Previous experience in bathing/grooming animals in a professional environment or completed professional training

Physical Effort

• Ability to handle and restrain pets of various sizes (up to 150+lbs) and temperaments with care and compassion. 
• Walking and/​or standing for long periods; frequently working in a bent position.​
• May be required to use strength or agility in capturing and restraining stronger, more active animals.​

While performing job duties, the employee is regularly required to have the ability to maintain open communication with customers, fellow employees, and upper management. Access, input, and retrieve information from the POS system. Physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of his/her job such as lifting up to 50lbs, stand for extended periods of time, climb ladders, bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping, squatting, and reach over your head.
