Battery Technician

JOB SUMMARY

The responsibilities of a battery tech are to conduct repairs and maintenance work for batteries and chargers that are in shop. This position operates equipment’s and assist the department in preparing battery and chargers records, performing safety inspections, and adhering to safety procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Preparation and set up of charges
• Repair/load and set up of Batteries
• Install batteries into forklift units
• Scanning and barcoding batteries and chargers in and out of the system
• Work documented electronically on iPads on specialized job scheduling and tracking system
• Participate in cycle counts and inventories
• Assist supervisor on batteries and chargers.
• Assist other techs in shop and road on.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Excellent verbal/ written communication and presentation skills.
• Skills in knowing current and voltage. 
• Ability to work at a fast pace and under pressure.
• Excellent organizational, time management, follow-through and multitask skills.
• Advanced customer service skills.
• Knowledge of the industry.
• Knowing the PPE.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least 2 years of related experience and execution of similar duties 
• Previous experience with NetSuite is a plus
• Electrical experience.
• Previous Forklift experience is a plus.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to travel.
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to have manual dexterity to operate equipment and tools required on the job
• Ability to function in work environment with moderate noise level from several sources creating constant activity.

Hours M - F 7am to 4pm
