Job description:

To plan, develop, and monitor a variety of behavioral support service delivery options to meet the needs of clients diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and/or other behavioral and social/communication challenges. Utilizing a family-centered approach, provides parent education and empirically-based intervention activities to children with autism spectrum disorders, ages 14 months and older, in the child's home and/or other natural settings, to facilitate inclusion into the least restrictive environment.

Essential Job Functions

  • Perform initial assessments of children with autism spectrum disorders to determine eligibility and appropriateness for on-going services.
  • Conduct intake assessments, which include evaluations, skills assessments, and developing treatment plans.
  • Provides supervision and clinical management and leadership for professional teams, lead team meetings, participate and guide case presentations and video reviews, ensure staff productivity, and provide staff training and professional development.
  • Provides Caregiver trainings.
  • Actively participate in leadership meetings, program development, organizational decisions, recruiting and hiring.
  • Remains current regarding new research, current trends and developments in special education and behavior treatment programs for children with autism.
  • Collaborate with adjunctive service providers and all other members of the student's educational environment.

Requirements

 Minimum Education or Training Equivalent to:

  • Master’s degree in a related field as a licensed clinician – psychology, MFT, MSW, or licensed SLP, OT, PT with strong behavior background and ABA experience.
  • Active Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) CertificationExperience working with individuals with autism or developmental disorders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Able to travel to multiple work sites; reliable transportation needed (proof of valid CA driver license, current auto insurance identification card, and maintain acceptable driving record per NIAC standards is required)
  • Able to consistently demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Able to exercise confidentiality and discretion pertaining to the work environment.
  • Able to appropriately interpret and implement policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Able to share a passion for a family centered, evidence-based therapy that will help children become their very best through your team.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, twisting in order to observe, assess, and interact with infants/toddlers.
  • Frequent speaking and listening to clients, staff, and other professionals in meetings and on the phone.
  • Occasional walking to, bending to enter, sitting, and using upper and lower limbs to drive car to and from home visits and meetings.
  • Occasional sitting and maintaining close visual attention to write reports and work at the computer.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, and loading/unloading toys and materials used in home visits.
