BDC Representative


Summary


We are seeking an enthusiastic Business Development Center (BDC) Representative to join our dealership’s team. In this role you’ll partner closely with our sales consultants—serving as a first point of contact for customers, assisting with phone and online inquiries, helping to schedule appointments for the sales and service departments, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. Successful candidates will combine strong communication skills with a passion for customer service and an ability to thrive in a fastpaced, changing environment.


Responsibilities




  • Handle inbound and outbound communications: Answer phone calls and online inquiries, greet walkin customers, and respond promptly to emails, live chat messages and text messages.




  • Schedule and confirm appointments: Coordinate sales and service appointments, follow up on “noshow” clients, and confirm upcoming appointments. Contact internet leads and set appointments using scripts and word tracks when necessary.




  • Lead management: Log all customer interactions and comments in the CRM, track leads and appointment outcomes, and maintain accurate customer and vehicle information in the database. Purify and update customer records regularly.




  • Followup: Execute a structured followup plan for unqualified leads by making calls, sending emails and texts over seven days. Conduct additional outbound calls to schedule maintenance, recalls and preventive services.




  • Customer service: Provide accurate information on vehicle inventory, pricing, promotions and service options. Address customer concerns promptly and ensure clients are aware of promotions and special offers.




  • Marketing and communications: Generate emails, letters and postcards based on marketing initiatives, and participate in community events and dealership promotions.




  • Collaboration: Work with sales and service teams to optimize lead conversion, report appointment outcomes and share feedback. Notify other departments when appointments are scheduled.




  • Goal achievement: Meet or exceed monthly goals for appointments set, shown and sold. Participate in team meetings to discuss strategies for improving lead generation and conversion.




Requirements




  • Proven experience in sales, customer service, call center or telemarketing environments.




  • Past experience working in an automotive business development center (BDC) or similar leadmanagement role is preferred.




  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and a professional, personable demeanor.




  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively in a fastpaced environment.




  • Proficiency with CRM software, Microsoft Office and other internet tools.




  • Ability to work flexible hours and collaborate effectively with team members.




  • Past BDC experience preferred. Candidates who have previously worked in a dealership’s Business Development Center or similar call/chat center environment will be given priority consideration.

Our compensation package: This position pays $19 per hour plus commission. Commission is tied to key performance metrics—including the number of appointments set and shown, vehicles sold, and the percentage of leads that convert to sales. In addition to hourly pay and commissions, employees may qualify for other incentive programs based on performance.
