Job Description - Bdo I

Title: Business Development Officer                                                    


 


Overview:


Outreach and perform marketing efforts to attract qualified customers.  Maintain and develop existing and new customers through appropriate propositions and ethical sales methods as well as adhering to financial prudence and regulations, and relevant internal liaison, to optimize quality of service, business growth, and customer and satisfaction.  Refer customers to appropriate internal and external business resources.  Ensures all customers receive prompt and courteous service and that products/services offered meet the needs of the bank's customer base.  Works to ensure maximization of customer relationships based on customer need and aligned with the bank’s core values. 


 


Essential Duties:



  • Promotes, explains, and sells all banking products. Asks customers for referrals.  Maintains a portfolio of existing retail customers.  Does consumer lending.

  • Builds and maintains a base of prospects and new customers. Analyzes needs of prospects and provides information about Bank products and services that can enhance client's financial position.

  • Develops monthly and annually business growth plans. Marketing and advertising and promotion planning.  Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve performance goals.

  • Develops new business.  May conduct outside sales calls. Analyzes client base and competitive environment for the market area.  Monitors, evaluates, and implements adjustments to programs to ensure achievement of goals.

  • Communicate, liaise, and negotiate internally and externally using appropriate methods to facilitate the development of profitable business and sustainable relationships.

  • Attend and present at external customer meetings and internal meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business development.

  • Maintains thorough product knowledge of all banking products. Provides staff training to include product knowledge, sales, referrals, customer service, and policy and procedures.

  • Attend training and to develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills.

  • Authorizes transactions in accordance with bank policy (e.g., deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, wire transfers, etc.). Addresses and resolves client concerns and inquiries.

  • May be responsible for bank opening/closing.

  • Perform all duties in compliance with BSA/AML regulations and requirements

  • Obtains adequate data for CIP on all wire and money instrument transactions

  • Monitors and reports suspicious activity to the BSA Officer


Education/Additional Training or Certifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience


Knowledge/Experience:



  • Software skills including Microsoft Office, Adobe, Internet, and Email

  • Bilingual English/Korean, or English/Chinese, or English/Vietnamese preferred
