Role: Behavior Analyst in Training (BAT) 


Hours: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p. Full time only.


Pay: $25/hr


Location: 1230 Johnson Ferry Road, Suite B-10, Marietta, GA 30068


Description


Apollo Behavior is looking for an aspiring BCBA at our East Cobb Center! This role provides PAID UNRESTRICTED HOURS towards becoming a BCBA!


This position is an ideal opportunity for someone currently collecting fieldwork hours to become a BCBA and wants to learn from the best clinical team in the field. You must have a combination of 70% of your fieldwork hours to be eligible for this position. (For example, all of your restricted hours complete and over 60% of your unrestricted hours.)


Behavior Analysts in Training (BATs) work under the supervision of a tenured/senior BCBA and receive hands-on training to become a Case Supervisor. They earn unrestricted hours by creating learning trees, overseeing progress for 2-4 clients, training new employees, auditing SOAP notes, assisting with conducting parent training, and more.


In addition to becoming a BCBA faster than anywhere else, you will have the opportunity to move into a BCBA with Apollo upon passing the BCBA exam!

Job Qualifications



  • Previous experience as an RBT in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis or in an educational setting working with children with educational, communication, or behavioral difficulties is preferred

  • Eagerness to learn, ability to be coached, and a dedication to helping the children we serve make life changing progress

  • Must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid state-issued driver’s license, and an acceptable driving record, and pass a background check

  • The basic understanding of technology such as iPads and Microsoft Office with a willingness to learn more

  • The ability to take instruction and constructive feedback

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree and in a masters program with 70% of fieldwork hours accrued


Job Specific Competencies



  • Strong communication skills required - must be able to deliver constructive feedback to team regarding job performance

  • Must use strong judgment skills when documenting behaviors and reporting data in SOAP notes

  • Must be coachable, receive constructive feedback, and develop knowledge and skills accordingly

  • Must use discretion skills when analyzing data to find inaccurate or variable data points when reporting to BCBA

  • Adhere to company policies and procedures and set the example in front of peers

  • Ability to work under high stress situations

  • Commitment to maintain HIPAA compliance, confidentiality, and code of conduct

  • Exhibits significant reliable habits - including timeliness and organizational skills

  • Proven experience working with pre-school and elementary school-aged children

  • Additional evidence of successful work with clients suffering from Autism and development issues

  • Must be a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

Job Responsibilities



  • Assist in training new employees in the work of the clinic

  • Oversees case management of 2-4 clients

  • Fills in for other employees or the supervisor when necessary

  • Analyze client behavior and apply scientific ABA principles

  • Respond appropriately to common behavioral and developmental challenges among clients on the autism spectrum disorder

  • Effectively communicate positive reinforcement to clients

  • Ability to recognize and respond to critical improvements in client behaviors

  • Familiarity with using behavioral redirection techniques

  • Responds to negative behaviors appropriately

  • Provide accurate and timely written documentation on each client in CentralReach or other data collection services

  • Create and update client Learning Trees within Central Reach to ensure clients are making progress and mastering skills

  • Create and update behavior intervention plans (BIPs) as needed for clients within caseload

  • Creates and conducts trainings for staff as directed by supervisor and/or Clinical Director

  • Conducts case review meetings for clients within caseload

  • Reviews and audits SOAP notes and trains staff on corrections

  • Utilize key communication skills to provide effective feedback to other staff members

  • Be able to discern and use just judgment to provide critical improvements in client behaviors

  • Continuous learning on ABA strategies including, but not limited to, behavioral redirection techniques, prompting strategies, and additional behavior intervention/teaching strategies

  • Know how to respond to negative behaviors appropriately

  • Aide peers in day-to-day operations of the team by ensuring that all required paperwork, materials, and documentation are up to date

  • Assist Case Supervisors in any required audit documentation (i.e., SOAP note audits, compiling documentation for funders, etc.)

  • Attend trainings and events outside of regular business hours as needed and directed by supervisors

  • Bring client or team issues to Case Supervisors along with suggestions for problem solving

  • Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behaviors, e.g., toilet training

  • Assist with conducting parent and caregiver training according to client’s individualized treatment

Characteristics of Work: frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, lifting and carrying objects up 100 pounds.


Vision Requirements: Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
