What You’ll Do
As a Behavior Professional, you will play a key role in developing, implementing, and monitoring behavior support services across CVI programs. Responsibilities include:
Behavior Support & Clinical Services
- Complete Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs)
- Develop, update, and maintain Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs)
- Create and manage behavior tracking systems
- Analyze data and recommend interventions
- Participate in ISP and interdisciplinary team meetings
Staff Training & Leadership
- Train staff on behavior plans and support strategies
- Provide retraining and coaching as needed
- Maintain Oregon Intervention System (OIS) Instructor certification
- Lead OIS trainings and certifications for new hires
- Model CVI values of Compassion, Integrity, and Responsibility
Crisis Response & Safety
- Support crisis situations in person or by phone
- Review and debrief physical intervention incidents
- Ensure safety standards and risk mitigation practices are followed
Collaboration & Program Support
- Work closely with Residential Oversight Specialists, Case Managers, and Leadership
- Attend psychiatric appointments and provide behavior data
- Support client transitions (intake and exit)
- Assist with licensing visits and corrective action plans
Direct Observation & Engagement
- Spend at least 16 hours weekly observing in program homes
- Build rapport with clients and staff
- Ensure behavior supports are implemented correctly
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must meet one of the following:
- BCBA Certification + 1 year experience working with individuals with I/DD
OR
- Master’s Degree (Psychology, Social Work, Education, Human Services, or related) + 1 year experience
OR
- Bachelor’s Degree (related field) + 3 years experience
OR
- 6 years of professional behavior support experience prior to January 1, 2021
Additional Requirements:
- Valid Oregon Driver’s License and insured vehicle
- Ability to pass a background check
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High level of professionalism and confidentiality
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Office-based with frequent home visits
- Travel between program sites is required
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs regularly and assist up to 75 lbs when needed
- May assist during crisis interventions using non-aversive techniques
- PPE may be required depending on the setting
