Your Role: As a Behavioral Health Coordinator at The Good Shepherd, you are the connector between patients and mental health care. You'll ensure that every patient feels seen, supported, and scheduled. This role blends care coordination, patient engagement, and administrative excellence to support a smooth and compassionate care experience.
Patient Communication & Navigation
- Answer behavioral health-related calls with warmth and professionalism
- Educate patients on behavioral health services, programs, and care expectations
- Track patient concerns using our EHR system and follow up appropriately
- Help patients complete necessary consents, screenings, or assessments
Referral & Scheduling Coordination
- Manage behavioral health referrals from internal and external sources
- Schedule initial and follow-up appointments and verify insurance eligibility
- Follow up with patients on no-shows or cancellations
Care Coordination & Documentation
- Ensure continuity of care across internal and external providers
- Maintain accurate records in EHR and support outreach to close care gap
Administrative & Team Support
- Support provider schedules and team workflows
- Monitor dashboards, task queues, and assist with team huddles and improvement efforts
What We’re Looking For:
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and problem-solve in a fast-paced healthcare setting
- Comfortable using EHR systems and Microsoft Office
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a strong plus

The Good Shepherd Community Clinic, Inc. has grown from the original Tuesday night volunteer clinic in a small rental house only treating 85 patients, to a full-time, comprehensive Community Health Center caring for more than 9,600 medical and dental patients.
Today, our vision is to transform healthcare delivery by empowering each other, inspiring change, and building healthy people.
