Are you a skilled evaluation manager with a commitment to social justice and utilization-focused performance measurement? Do you enjoy working collaboratively with partners to facilitate data-informed decision making? Are you interested in putting your skills to work to make a difference in your community? If so, King County's Department of Community and Human Services (DCHS) is looking for you!

King County's

Department of Community and Human Services (DCHS)

DCHS has a tremendous opportunity for a data and evaluation manager to partner with one of the Country’s largest human services departments in advancing a cutting-edge collaborative model supporting behavioral health and recovery or pro-equity, community-driven programming to support people in King County! The

Behavioral Health and Recovery Division

This position is centrally located within the Performance Measurement and Evaluation (PME) unit of the DCHS Director's Office.

Behavioral Health Crisis Services Data and Evaluation Lead
One area of focus for BHRD is crisis and commitment services. King County offers services for people who are in a behavioral health crisis, including the recently approved Crisis Care Centers initiative, a nine-year levy that will create a regional network of five Crisis Care Centers, restore and increase mental health residential treatment beds, and invest in the people providing mental health and substance use disorder services. Behavioral health crisis services are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. As the Crisis Services Data and Evaluation Manager, you’d be responsible for creating a robust data-informed culture that supports crisis services provided across King County and provides measurement for the newly approved levy.

You wouldn’t be working alone! These positions get to lead extremely talented teams of data scientists and evaluators with deep subject matter expertise and technical skills in SQL, R, and Tableau. Each team sits within a larger PME unit that supports the entire department and is comprised of professionals skilled in quantitative and qualitative evaluation methods, data resource development and management, and data visualization. PME works with DCHS’ program staff, management, and providers to develop comprehensive evaluation frameworks and performance metrics, including assisting with determining appropriate performance measures, managing data collection and quality control, monitoring continuous quality improvement, and conducting in-depth analyses to inform decision making and improve service delivery. PME disseminates research and evaluation findings and promotes organizational learning through published reports and online dashboards.
