Job Description - Behavioral Health Director

Description

 The Behavioral Health Director supports the primary care/behavioral health providers in the Frontera Healthcare Network system. The behavioral Health?Director will oversee the daily operations of the Behavioral Health services including cost efficiencies and effectiveness as well as implementation of administrative best practices.   

Requirements

  1.  Directs, coordinates, and maximizes the integration and cooperation of behavioral health programs at all Frontera locations, facilitating collaborations and partnerships between representatives of the County, contract providers, and non-profit agencies. Some activities may be outside of normal business hours.  
  2. Maintains the responsiveness of behavioral health systems by identifying the needs of the community, evaluating the quality of behavioral health services, addressing issues and concerns, resolving problems, and developing plans and objectives. 
  3. Participates in developing and implementing long-range plans pertaining to behavioral health services, such as healthcare integration and evidence-based prevention and treatment approaches. 
  4. Develops, implements, and monitors the programs to add and expand behavioral health services as funding becomes available.  
  5. Convenes and conducts meetings with behavioral health service providers to ensure that high levels of service delivery are maintained. 
  6. Interacts with other organizational providers, community partners and stakeholders to share information and resources and coordinate activities in order to ensure that service deliveries meet goals, standards, and expectations. 
  7. Identifies, defines, and provides input on issues, needs, and problems and proposes solutions to the Behavioral Health Services executive team and members of consumer and family groups. 
  8. Represents and protects the interests of behavioral health service recipients by developing cooperative working relationships with law enforcement agencies, probation, social services, advocacy organizations, mental health and substance abuse providers and other Agency and community partners. 
  9. Serves as a point of contact for clients and their advocates who are experiencing difficulties with behavioral health services and facilitates solutions to resolve such difficulties. 
  10. Reviews policies and procedures for?behavioral health services and provides information to staff. 
  11. Provide training and education on PCMH standard of care 
Work Hours:40-hour workweek, with flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed. This position requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping, and stretching. It requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, and other office equipment. It also requires a normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports. This position may require travel between sites and the ability to interact with others in both small and large group settings. At times, this position may include periods of extended physical activity, such as walking/standing at community events and/or moving and distributing educational materials.
