Job Description - Behavioral Health Director

Mountain Community Health Partnership (MCHP) is seeking a full time Behavioral Health Director to join our team. MCHP is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) dedicated to providing compassionate, integrated care to our rural communities. We believe in whole-person health. The Behavioral Health Director will lead our interdisciplinary behavioral health team in a role that combines strategic leadership with hands-on clinical engagement, which ensures high-quality care across our primary care setting. The Behavioral Health Director will make a meaningful impact in rural health, and foster a supportive environment that values creativity, flexibility, and professional growth. 



Key Responsibilities: 



  • Develop and execute a strategic vision for Behavioral Health Services in collaboration with the Leadership Team.

  • Drive initiatives that enhance mental health outcomes, expand access to care, and align with MCHP mission and values. 

  • Manage day-to-day operations of behavioral health services. 

  • Ensure sufficient workflows, high-quality care delivery, and seamless integration with MCHP services. 

  • Lead, mentor, and support a diverse interdisciplinary team including Behavioral Health Providers and Certified Peer Support Specialists. 

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning. 

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including HRSA and grant requirements. 

  • Oversee licensure maintenance, risk reporting, and ethical standards. 

  • Oversee the development and maintenance of clinical policies and procedures. 

  • Represent MCHP in community partnerships and initiatives that support behavioral health. 


Qualifications:



  • Education: Graduate degree in Social Work or Counseling. Valid license to practice in NC.

  • Experience: Proven leadership in behavioral health setting, preferably in primary care. At least two years' experience in a leadership role, preferably in primary care or integrated care setting. 

  • Stong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health records.
