Behavioral Health Specialist (Adult PHP Program)

Behavioral Health Specialist - Adult PHP Program

The Behavioral Health Specialist supports the milieu by facilitating therapeutic skills and activity groups, providing therapeutic meal support at mealtimes and snacks, assisting clients in acquiring skills to manage their eating disorder, maintaining a recovery-oriented environment, and providing general support and assistance. 

Compensation Range:

• Behavioral Health Specialist: $ 23.50 - $ 28.00 / Hourly

Final compensation offered will be within pay range based on qualifications/experience met for position.

Schedule:

• 0.8 FTE (32hrs/wk), schedule developed around the Adult PHP program hours of Monday - Thursday 1:00 - 7:00pm and Fridays 9:00 - 3:00pm Pacific Time.

How Therapists Empower Recovery:  

• Facilitates therapy groups including skills groups (including CBT and DBT), self-monitoring groups, and experiential activity groups which may include art activities, music, journaling, mindfulness, relaxation, and movement. 


• Participates in therapeutic supported meals and snacks. 


• Provides milieu support. 


• Contributes to the creation and maintenance of a recovery-oriented therapeutic environment. 


• May meet with client to provide support and provide in-the-moment skills coaching. 


• Supports individualized treatment plans as developed by therapist and treatment team. 


• Participates in treatment team, mini team, therapy team, and/or case consultation meetings.  


• Completes clinical documentation in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. 


• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in a mental, behavioral, counseling, or behavioral sciences health-related field is strongly preferred.


• Minimum of 1 years of direct patient care experience in a mental/behavioral health setting is required, regardless of degree.


• Active AAC, Agency Affiliated Counselor license is required at the time of hire, or an application must be pending/submitted by the start date.

• Uses leadership, team building, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills to build partnerships within and across system. 


• Engages in self-evaluation process, seeking feedback regarding own practice, from clients, peers, professional colleagues, and others.

Workplace Environment: 

• Standing 70-75% and Sitting 25-30%. 


• Bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping, or crouching when appropriate, on occasion. 


• Lift, carry, push, or pull up to approx. 30 pounds (supplies, etc.)
