The Behavioral Health Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of behavioral health services, ensuring high-quality care, and supporting the professional development of behavioral health clinicians. This role involves supervising behavioral health clinicians, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and implementing evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes in therapeutic plans. A person in this position reports directly to the Director of Behavioral Health Services. 

Team Leadership and Supervision: 

• Provide direct supervision, mentorship, and support to behavioral health clinicians. 
• Provides supervision and training to intern/practica students. 
• Attends regularly scheduled supervision meetings 
• Conduct regular team meetings, case reviews, and performance evaluations. 
• Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and positive work environment.
• Support strategic initiatives and sit on committees as appointed by the Behavioral Health Services Director

Program Management:

• Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of treatment programs which includes travel to agency programs.
• Carry a small caseload
• Attend regularly scheduled team and programmatic meetings.
• Ensure that care plans are person-centered, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed.
• Review and approve therapeutic behavior support plans, progress notes, and assessments.
• Support staff in managing complex cases and crisis situations.
• Ensure timely response to client emergencies and critical incidents.

Compliance and Documentation:

• Ensure OPWDD (New York State Office for Persons with Developmental Disabilities)regulatory compliance.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation to support audits and quality reviews.
• Stay current with best practices and legal requirements in behavioral health.

Training and Professional Development:

• ·Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for staff.
• Support clinicians in obtaining and maintaining licensure and certifications.
• Facilitate regular supervision and case consultation sessions.
• Maintain compliance with required annual and supportive trainings

Requirements

•  Master's degree in social work, counseling, or a related field (required). 
• Current licensure as an LCSW or LMHC.
• 3-5 years of clinical experience in behavioral health, including supervisory roles. 
• Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
