Behavioral Health Technician | Needham, MA | Full -Time | On -Site

What You'll Do

• Support clients through daily program activities with a nonjudgmental, empathetic approach
  
• Actively listen to clients and build rapport and trust to support engagement in treatment
  
• Observe and accurately document client behavior, mood, and any signs of crisis, withdrawal, or relapse
  
• Maintain clear, professional documentation and charting in accordance with facility standards
  
• Communicate effectively with both clients and the clinical team to support continuity of care
  
• Recognize and respond calmly to mental health crises or agitation, using de -escalation techniques as needed
  
• Respect and support clients from diverse backgrounds and life experiences
  
• Apply a basic working knowledge of mental health and substance use disorders, including the 12 -step model, in day -to -day client interactions
  

Requirements

What You Bring

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED
  
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
  
• Ability to actively listen without judgment
  
• Ability to build rapport and trust with clients
  
• Basic understanding of mental health disorders, substance use disorders, and the 12 -step model
  
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and skilled in de -escalating conflict or agitation
  
• No prior experience required
  
• Ability to successfully pass a background check and pre -employment drug screening
  
• Reliable availability for a Tuesday through Saturday schedule
  
• Ability to stand, walk, and actively engage with clients throughout a shift
  

Preferred:

• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
  
• Prior experience in a behavioral health, substance use treatment, or related human services setting
  
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) system
