Job Description - Behavioral Intervention Center Caseworker

Description

The BIC (Behavioral Intervention Center) Caseworker works to assure that quality services are delivered within the BIC program in accordance with ECSD contracts and NY State Education Law. This includes participation in the program schedule and calendar and maintaining program functions and operations. The BIC Caseworker is responsible for assisting in the implementation of department goals and programs, youth safety plans, and goal planning for returning to school and planning. The BIC Caseworker contributes to the Glove House high performance culture by exhibiting our values and providing quality results that keep Glove House as the premier provider of child, family, and behavioral health solutions. The BIC Caseworker is directly accountable to the Program Manager of School Based Services.

Primary Job Functions:

  • Assists in the provision of overall oversight to the BIC program in the care of youth in accordance with all Glove House, state, and regulatory requirements.
  • Is guided by organizational values and trauma informed practice in all interactions.
  • Assists in ensuring that job-related activities are following Glove House policies and procedures, ECSD policies, procedures and contracts and NY state Education Law.  
  • Requires daily interaction with staff and clients ensuring services are delivered in accordance with the Glove House operating modality (TCI), calendars and schedules are followed
  • Assists in providing client’s support in crisis situations, including post-crisis response. 
  • Directly provides coaching to the youth in program.
  • Ensure, complete, and maintain client records and program documentation (self, staff, and youth), such as daily activities, progress notes and termination summaries, according to Glove House program and regulatory standards. 
  • Assures all documentation is completed in a timely fashion i.e., youth notes, performance plans, safety plans, participant expectations forms, Myevolv, Class I and II etc.
  • Will actively participate as a team member and attend staff meetings. 
  • Is required to safely travel on agency business, as required by job demands. Maintain accurate mileage documentation and submit in required agency timeframes.  
  • Consistently attends mandated agency and department meetings and participates on standing agency committees and community committees as assigned.
  • Performs other responsibilities as assigned by the School Based Services Program Manager.

Schedule Expectations

The incumbent will work schedule shift of 7:30 am-3:30 PM as well as 8 am – 4:00 pm, travel will be done as needed, to conduct Glove House business-related activities.  

Requirements

All degrees must be from an accredited university.

Associate degree: other education and experience in child welfare required. 

Must have a valid driver’s license and driving record in accordance with agency standards.

1-3 years’ experience working with children and families or in the education system are required
