Description of the role:
The Behavioral Technician (BT) provides direct care and behavioral support services to individuals recovering from TBI and SCI. Working under the supervision of a licensed clinician or behavior analyst, the BT implements individualized treatment and behavior support plans, helps promote functional independence, and ensures a safe and therapeutic environment.
Responsibilities:
- Implement behavior support plans developed by clinical supervisors and/or behavior analysts
- Monitor, observe, and record data on behavioral interventions and progress
- Assist patients in developing adaptive skills and positive behaviors
- Provide crisis prevention and de-escalation support when necessary
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and structured environment in accordance with facility policies
- Participate in team meetings to review treatment plans, progress, and goals
- Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members regarding patient status
- Support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed, while promoting independence
- Complete all required documentation in a timely and accurate manner
- Attend ongoing training and professional development sessions as required
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 1 year experience working in behavioral health, rehabilitation, or a related field
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage challenging behaviors in a calm and respectful manner
- Must pass background check and drug screening
- CPR/First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- CNA, Behavioral Tech, Medical Assistant Certificate
Compensation: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour paid bi-
