Job Description - Bellman

Position Statement:


To ensure all guests are welcomed to the Hotel in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring that the final image of the Hotel is positive too.  Ensures the free flow of traffic at the front of the Hotel is maintained and no vehicles are left unattended.  Ensures that guest’s luggage is correctly delivered and collected without delay.  Answer all enquires promptly and accurately.  



Position Summary:


Ensure that every guest is greeted and welcomed when arriving as well as thanked when leaving in a friendly and service-oriented manner. 
Open and close doors for guests entering and leaving vehicles at the front entrance in a brief and polite manner.
Respond quickly and positively to guests’ questions, requests, problems, and complaints and resolves them effectively and consistently.
Offer accurate information to guests that require assistance.
Receive information from supervisor and team members working prior shift regarding any important functions taking place during your shift.
Organize keys, tickets, and other information necessary in accordance with company policies to ensure smooth parking.
Carry Master Key for room deliveries as directed by the supervisor.
Monitors and maintains cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas in accordance with company standards.
Takes a proactive role in problem resolution.
Stays calm when confronted by difficult situations with guests and team members.
Ensures that the front entrance is always manned.
Ensures free flow of traffic at the front of the Hotel, particularly if security or emergency services are called to the Hotel.
Communicates and liaises with the Front Office Management and fellow team regarding the collection of luggage to/from the Hotel.  When handling luggage issue a claim voucher to all guests with the accurate information (i.e. No. of bags/Room Number/Name).
Has an up to date and excellent knowledge of New Providence and the surrounding area, having the ability to direct guests; recommends various standards and styles of restaurants. Understanding the Hotel guest expectations and matching these with the information given.
Maintains a clean, uncluttered tidy-working environment at all times, ensuring the front of the hotel is free from litter at all times.  Notify other departments when cleaning is needed.
Place group bags in room on arrivals or take them out of the guest room as directed by the supervisor. 
Keep driveway clean at all times ensuring it is free from paper, dirt, oil and grease. 
Ensure that birdcages are kept clean and well maintained at the beginning and end of shift. 
Assist guests with luggage to the room on arrival or from the room on departure. 
Store luggage for guests upon check-in or after check-out when necessary. 
Direct guests to area events, businesses and attractions.
Have sound knowledge of all facilities and services offered by the property.
Work all AM, PM, and graveyard shifts as scheduled.
Always comply with Goldwynn standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
Perform any reasonable duties as required.
To carry out any reasonable tasks requested by the Director of Front Office, Front Office Supervisors or any member of senior leadership.



Qualifications
●    High School Diploma 
●    Ability to handle multiple tasks at once
●    Amazing time management skills
●    Well-groomed, professional appearance.
●    A team player with a can-do attitude
●    Good written and verbal communication skills.
●    Must be able to move lift, carry, push and pull luggage and other equipment. 
●    Goldwynn operates a twenty-four (24) hour business. Therefore you will be scheduled to work shifts, which may change from time to time.
