As a Bellperson, you will serve as the first and last impression of The Westgate Hotel, providing warm, personalized service that reflects our commitment to luxury hospitality. You will welcome guests upon arrival and departure, assist with luggage, escort guests to their rooms, provide knowledgeable recommendations, and ensure a seamless experience throughout every interaction.

What Your Day-to-Day Looks Like:
The Bellperson plays a key role in creating a welcoming and elevated arrival and departure experience for every guest. This position is responsible for providing personalized assistance, anticipating guest needs, and ensuring each interaction reflects The Westgate Hotel’s commitment to excellence.
Greet guests with warmth and professionalism, assist with luggage handling, escort guests to their rooms, and provide information about hotel amenities, services, and local attractions. This role works closely with Front Desk, and other hotel departments to support efficient guest service operations and ensure a seamless experience from arrival through departure.
The ideal candidate is a proactive team member with strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for hospitality. This position requires the ability to anticipate guest needs, maintain a professional presence, and provide exceptional service in a luxury hotel environment.
What We’re Looking For:
• Greet all guests promptly and courteously upon arrival and departure, creating a welcoming first and last impression of The Westgate Hotel.
• Assist guests with luggage loading and unloading while providing attentive and personalized service.
• Escort guests to their rooms and provide information regarding hotel amenities, services, and features.
• Offer knowledgeable recommendations and directions regarding local attractions, dining, transportation, and points of interest throughout San Diego.
• Deliver guest items to rooms as requested, including amenities, packages, luggage, and other special requests.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional appearance at the bell desk and lobby areas.
• Coordinate transportation services for guests, including taxis, shuttles, valet requests, and other transportation needs.
• Assist with room moves, group arrivals, and group departures to ensure smooth guest transitions.
• Accurately log and tag all stored luggage while following hotel security and safety procedures.
• Communicate effectively with Front Desk, and other hotel departments to support seamless operations.
• Respond to guest questions and requests with professionalism, urgency, and a guest-first mindset.
• Demonstrate knowledge of hotel emergency procedures and safety protocols.
• Maintain a polished, professional appearance while representing The Westgate Hotel’s luxury service standards.
• Deliver service that reflects The Westgate Hotel’s commitment to excellence in hospitality.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support hotel operations.
What You Bring to the Team:
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous hospitality, hotel, valet, or customer service experience preferred.
• Friendly, outgoing, and guest-oriented personality with a passion for creating memorable experiences.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities with the ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to anticipate guest needs and provide personalized service.
• Knowledge of San Diego attractions, restaurants, and local experiences is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team while maintaining a high level of independence.
• Professional appearance and demeanor consistent with luxury hospitality standards.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts based on business needs.

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull luggage and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds.

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to perform physical tasks in a fast-paced hospitality environment with frequent guest interaction.

This is a non-exempt hourly position. A flexible schedule is required based on business needs, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts.
