Assist CFO & Director of Human Resources with annual ERISA audit
Respond to unemployment claims; attend hearings as needed
Respond to/process workers’ compensation claims, working with both the employee and the workers’ compensation insurance company
Assists with open enrollment process
Administer tuition reimbursement program
Provides reports for allocation/billing charges
Process documents through payroll & insurance providers for accurate record-keeping & deductions
Perform customer service functions
Process termination of benefits
Clerical duties: making photocopies, correspondence, filing documents
Performs other related duties as assigned
Legal & Compliance
Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices
Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
Assists with employee benefits audits to ensure various legal and accreditation compliance standards
Submit online investigation requests regarding workers’ compensation and unemployment claims
Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems
At least two years related experience preferred
