Boston Benefit Partners (BBP), an Alera Group Company, is seeking a consultant to join their Employee Benefits team. BBP is a dynamic, entrepreneurial, fast-paced employee benefit consulting/brokerage firm located in downtown Boston. BBP has a unique culture. The consultant is responsible for the successful planning, management, and coordination of all services provided to clients. Consultants must have strong health and welfare benefit program knowledge and experience to include design, funding, administration, compliance, and communications. In addition, consultants must be able to coordinate special projects that may be required. Critical to the success of a consultant, is strategic thinking and time management to coordinate the completion of deliverables to meet client deadlines. This position is highly client interactive and requires an organized, initiative-taking, purposeful skill set with strong client management abilities.
Responsibilities:
Function as the primary point-of-contact and provide high-touch professional service for the client Manage key processes and internal activities necessary to meet client requirements Establish, build, and maintain strong relationships with clients Act as vendor liaison Keep informed and provide client support on legislative requirements and industry changes Analyze client utilization data, competitive benchmarking, and market trends Prepare client financials and analysis of marketing results Develop and coordinate client presentations and support/lead meetings Demonstrate effective working knowledge of carrier underwriting practices and processes Participate in internal initiatives, subcommittees, and events Pursue a program for personal and professional development
Required skills and experience:
BA/BS Five to seven years of employee benefits experience In-depth knowledge of all lines of coverage, contractual provisions, ACA, other federal and state legislation, and benefit funding arrangements Highly skilled in MS Office suite

Strong communication and presentation skills, along with keen listening skills Effective critical thinking skills Demonstrated initiative and ownership Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Ability to efficiently manage multiple projects for multiple clients simultaneously
