About the Role:


The Benefits Manager is responsible for administering and supporting team member benefit programs and providing day-to-day administrative support to the Human Resources Department. This role ensures accurate benefits enrollment, compliance with applicable qualifications, and timely assistance to team members regarding human resources related inquiries.


Essential Functions:



  • Enrolls, maintains, and updates medical, dental, vision, and ancillary benefit programs

  • Administers COBRA in compliance with federal regulations

  • Maintains accurate benefits records and ensures timely processing of changes

  • Ensures all team members enrolled in insurance plans meet eligibility and participation requirements

  • Performs monthly insurance reconciliations and billing to ensure accuracy of premiums, enrollments, and deductions

  • Administers FMLA and disability paperwork, including ongoing follow-up and coordination with employees

  • Assists with annual open enrollment and assists team members with benefit selections and questions

  • Manages workers’ compensation administration, including claims reporting, follow ups, and coordination with insurance carriers

  • Serves as point of contact for team members regarding benefits questions, eligibility, and procedures

  • Provides clear, friendly, and timely guidance to resolve benefits-related concerns


Supportive Functions:


In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, at the discretion of the manager based on the particular requirements of the hotel.



  • Assists the Human Resources Department with administrative functions, including new hire onboarding paperwork and orientation

  • Assists with all team member programs and events

  • Assists in other duties and responsibilities, as requested


Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.



  • Ability to organize their time and accomplish tasks on schedule

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with planning and attention to detail

  • Ability to effectively deal with team members’ concerns in a friendly and positive manner

  • Ability to operate office machines, such as fax machines and copy machines, with training

  • Ability to learn and perform all essential job functions accurately and safely with minimal supervision and within the initial training period

  • Ability to utilize all current computer software programs


Qualifications:


Education:


College degree preferred.


Experience:


One year Administrative and/or Human Resources experience preferred. Prior hotel experience preferred.


Licenses and Certificates:


Ability to obtain any government license required.
