The Benefits Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and administering the organization's employee benefits programs. This includes health and wellness plans, retirement programs, leave policies, and other employee benefits offerings. The role ensures programs are competitive, compliant, and aligned with organizational goals while supporting employee satisfaction and retention.
The Benefits Manager works closely with HR leadership, finance, vendors, and employees to manage benefits operations and enhance the overall employee experience.
This is a fully remote position; however, applicants must currently reside in the United States and be legally authorized to work in the U.S. Applications from individuals residing outside the United States will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and manage employee benefits programs including health, retirement, and wellness plans
Administer benefits enrollment processes, including open enrollment and new hire onboarding
Evaluate and recommend improvements to benefits offerings based on market trends and employee needs
Manage relationships with benefits vendors, brokers, and service providers
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to employee benefits
Analyze benefits utilization data and prepare reports for leadership
Develop communication materials to educate employees about benefits programs
Resolve employee inquiries related to benefits coverage and eligibility
Oversee leave of absence programs including FMLA and disability benefits
Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes impacting benefits programs
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
5–8 years of experience in benefits administration or total rewards management
Strong knowledge of employee benefits programs and regulatory requirements
Experience managing vendor relationships and benefits systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
High attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) or similar certification
Experience with HRIS and benefits administration platforms
Knowledge of compliance regulations such as ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and ACA
Experience in multi-state or large organization benefits programs
Familiarity with compensation and total rewards strategy
