Job Description - Berlin, CT- Desktop Support Technician I

We are seeking a skilled Desktop Support Technician to join our team as a 1099 independent contractor.

Project Overview

Client has procured 65 Mesa tablets to support operational needs as part of the AMI project. Initial setup tasks, including Intune registration and hashtag configuration, have been completed. Complete build and deployment has been completed for 11 out of the 65 tablets.

The remaining activities involve completion of the following on the 54 pending tablets:

  • DSS Technician engagement for imaging and BIOS updates
  • Asset tagging and inventory management
  • Installation of four critical business applications
  • shipping and delivery of tablets to the project team

In-scope

  • Complete imaging and validation through Microsoft Autopilot
  • Apply asset tags and accessories
  • Update registry key with asset tag information
  • Inventory devices in HAM
  • Install required business applications:
    • Fieldnet Mobile Eversource UL17
    • Itron Bluetooth Pairing Tool 1.1
    • Itron FTDI USB Drivers
    • Itron Mobile Optical Reading
  • Deliver tablets to the project team
  • High-level steps
  • Submit ticket for Intune/Autopilot work
  • Register devices in Intune
  • Run Autopilot imaging and validate
  • Generate and adhere asset tags
  • Update Registry with asset tag
  • Inventory tablets in HAM
  • Install 4 business applications

Required Education, Knowledge & Experience

Same as primary SoW

Abilities & Skills specific to the project

  • Experience with Microsoft Autopilot and Software Center
  • Prepare and configure the tablets using the Microsoft Autopilot process
  • Install applications from Software Center on each device
  • Perform initial login to verify application installation and meeting the project requirements
  • Document configuration steps and maintain accurate records of completed devices
  • Document hardware and software issues during setup and assist with troubleshooting as needed
  • Participate in discussions related to resolution of technical issues and provide necessary feedback
  • Collaborating with project leads to ensure timely completion of remaining 54 tablets.
