Bike Mechanic

Description

This position is responsible for repair and maintenance of the bike fleet.  

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• You will help live out our company’s Noble Purpose by ensuring that customers have a positive experience at Hilton Head Outfitters

• When interacting with each guest, leave them with a “WOW” story to tell about their experience

• Share customer impact stories with your team in meetings and with management

• Maintain all bikes to appropriate safety and professional levels

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bike shop

• Assist in maintaining all bike part inventories and cleaning supplies

• Fit participants to the right size and style bike

• Enforce systems to ensure quality customer care and equipment repair

• Maintain equipment use records

• Enforce the rules and regulations of the department

• Other duties as assigned

• At times, assist with pick up and delivery of bikes, beach chairs, and other rental items 

• Assist with the set up and break down of bike shop at the beginning and end of the day

• Assist guests with questions about our rentals

• Keep bike shop and surrounding areas clean of trash and other unsightly items

• Keep any tools in bike shop and surrounding areas tidy and in working conditions

• Check bike and other rentals that are returned for safety issues

• Inform guests of bike safety for Hilton Head Island

• Reports to work on time and according to posted schedule

• Maintains a professional appearance

• Remains alert, courteous, and helpful to the guests at all times

• Complete all scheduled work in a timely fashion

• Complete other tasks as assigned by Managers

• Assist in the daily operations of the bike lot

Requirements

• Must be available on Weekends and Holidays

• Must have a valid driver’s license with clean driving record in order to drive company vehicles in times of need.

• Desire to learn about bikes and maintain bikes
