Job Description - Bilingual Clinical Supervisor and Outpatient Therapist

El Futuro is currently hiring a full-time Bilingual Clinical Supervisor and Outpatient Therapist to provide direct services to individuals and families to reach treatment goals in an ethical, high-quality, evidence-based, and culturally informed approach; and to provide clinical and administrative supervision to licensed and unlicensed clinical staff.



This position is hybrid, mainly in the Durham clinic, working in-person 3 days per week or more; and working remotely up to 2 days per week. Outpatient Therapists must ensure 8 hours per week of client appointments are scheduled after 4:00pm and must be available for Friday morning meetings 9:00-11:00am (mostly virtual).



The annual salary for this position starts at $75,000.00, working a regular schedule of 37.5 hours per week.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


The Clinical Supervisor and Outpatient Therapist performs a wide range of functions including, but not limited to the following:



Clinical Supervisor Functions:



  • Provide direct, individual clinical supervision for Outpatient Therapists, Community Health Workers, Peer Support Specialists, and other unlicensed clinical staff. 

  • Monitor caseloads and ensure that supervisees comply with all El Futuro, state, federal and licensing policies, procedures and regulations.

  • Ensure that supervisees comply with all legal and ethical practices.

  • Provide ongoing, regular feedback and evaluation to supervisees on the quality and timeliness of their clinical work as well as their caseload, make suggestions and recommendations; solicit feedback from supervisees regarding supervision and whether their needs are being met.

  • Provide administrative oversight; support and training to assist supervisees in meeting scheduled hours requirements, charting, caseload, record keeping and documentation standards, and all other quality assurance standards.

  • Assist the Director of Clinical Services with facilitation of group supervision, case consultations, and other clinical meetings.

  • Identify training needs and make recommendations to the Director of Clinical Services.



Outpatient Therapist Functions:



  • Provide bilingual, culturally informed ongoing outpatient clinical services (individual and/or family psychotherapy) to adults, adolescents, and/or children.

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address family issues, behavior patterns, and other personal issues.

  • Using various techniques, collect information and data about clients to determine the best use of treatment options.

  • Participate in walk-in screening and assessments within a walk-in clinic model.

  • Maintain and submit accurate and timely documentation of clinical services provided, progress notes, recommendations, and lists of any recommended therapeutic activities.

  • Complete timely and accurate billing notes.

  • Confer with other counselors, doctors, staff members, and other professionals to analyze individual cases and coordinate any counseling services, including referrals to other specialists.

  • Create and maintain positive relationships with social service providers, other counselors, assistants, and community leaders.

  • Contribute to the clinical team’s knowledge base of emerging and changing best practices to best meet our client population.

  • Engage in learning opportunities through “La Mesita,” El Futuro’s training platform and network of bilingual providers in North Carolina.


 


GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF EL FUTURO STAFF:



  • Participate in meetings and organizational related activities as directed by the supervisor, which may include All Staff Meeting, Individual Supervision, participation on a committee, or other activities.

  • Play an active role in the continued development of El Futuro’s work via participation in fundraising and other agency-wide activities.

  • Engage in learning opportunities through “La Mesita”, El Futuro’s training platform and network of bilingual providers in North Carolina, or through other appropriate career development opportunities.


 


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE



  • Required: Master’s degree (or higher) in a field directly related to behavioral mental health care and treatment (eg: Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Clinical Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy)

  • Required: must be eligible to practice as a licensed mental health provider in North Carolina. This includes candidates with an LCSW, LCMHC, LMFT, or Ph.D. in Psychology.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience providing mental health treatment to a diverse community, in particular with the Spanish-speaking community. 

  • Clinical experience with adults and children.

  • Training in trauma-informed practices preferred.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES



  • Required: Fluency in spoken Spanish. Must also be able to read and communicate with clients in written Spanish. Must be able to document clinical encounters in English.

  • Demonstrated skills in program or project management.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities while affording attention to detail and

  • organization.

  • Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Strong consultation, assessment, triage, crisis, and case management skills.
