Job Description - Bilingual Education Coordinator

Description

  

Position Objective

To empower individuals and families to achieve economic stability and personal self-reliance through comprehensive resource coordination and skills training. This position provides life skills and employment preparation training, connects clients to critical resources, and contributes to program development and coordination (approximately 25%) to help the organization expand and innovate its services. The overarching goal is to help identify, develop, deploy and implement a system based on a structured methodology to support and empower the individual to become self-reliant and self-sufficient, allowing for a balanced individual living a dignified life. 

Essential Duties 

Training & Education: Employment and Life Skills (65%)

  • Design and deliver training workshops in both English and Spanish, covering a variety of life skills including:
    • Financial literacy (budgeting, credit repair, banking)
    • Parenting skills development
    • Communication and conflict resolution
    • Health and wellness awareness
    • Goal setting and personal organization
    • Digital literacy
  • Continue to provide employment readiness training, including resume writing, interview techniques, job search strategies, and job retention skills.
  • Adapt training sessions for groups and one-on-one formats based on individual client needs and cultural relevance.

Resource Coordination & Advocacy (10%)

  • Conduct screenings to assess client needs and connect them with internal services or external providers for housing, food, transportation, utilities, mental and physical health, and more.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of community resources and agency programs, including eligibility requirements.
  • Provide emergency financial assistance following program protocols and maintain accurate records.
  • Serve as a client advocate while fostering independence and long-term self-sufficiency.

Project Management & Program Development (25%)

  • Support the Chief Programs Officer in developing, piloting, and evaluating new initiatives that align with community needs and strategic agency goals.
  • Assist with identifying funding or partnership opportunities to enhance or expand programming.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to implement sustainable solutions.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate documentation in client databases and files.
  • Track service delivery, participation, and outcomes for reporting and program improvement.
  • Monitor and report on allocated financial and resource assistance.

Community Engagement & Collaboration

  • Represent Catholic Charities at community meetings, trainings, and outreach events.
  • Build and maintain relationships with employers, schools, landlords, healthcare providers, and other nonprofit organizations.
  • Coordinate with other Catholic Charities departments to align services and support clients' holistic goals.
  • Train and support volunteers involved in training or client support.

Flexibility & Service Commitment

  • Provide services during evenings and weekends when required.
  • Adapt approach based on client demographics, needs, and barriers (e.g., those with limited English proficiency, reentry populations, young adults, and seniors).

Requirements

  

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proven public speaking and group facilitation skills.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and trauma-informed care.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and client tracking software.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills across diverse populations.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and work independently and as part of a team.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Education, or a related field from an accredited institution. Professional experience can be taken into consideration.
  • Preferred experience in case management, direct services, or facilitation/training.
  • Demonstrated bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (spoken and written).
