Bilingual (English/Spanish) Special Education Tutor - Math & Literacy Support

About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Los Angeles, CA

Details:

• In-Person Tutoring in Los Angeles, CA
• Schedule: 10 hours per month; 2 sessions for 1.15 hrs
• Pay rate is between $25 and $35 per hour

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience working with high school students with learning disabilities and active IEPs.
• Strong knowledge of Geometry, Chemistry, and ELA at the high school level.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (required).
• Skilled in behavior intervention and classroom management strategies.
• Ability to create structured, motivating, and individualized lesson plans.

Key Responsibilities:

• Geometry:
• Provide step-by-step instruction on core concepts such as properties of shapes, solving angle equations, and applying formulas for area, perimeter, and volume.
• Use visual models, real-life examples, and manipulatives to enhance understanding.
• Chemistry:
• Support learning of abstract concepts including atomic structure, chemical bonding, and balancing equations.
• Utilize simplified explanations, scaffolded instruction, and visual or hands-on tools to make content accessible.
• English Language Arts (ELA):
• Assist with reading comprehension, text analysis, and identifying literary elements.
• Guide the student in organizing thoughts into coherent written responses using graphic organizers and structured writing frameworks.
• Behavior & Engagement:
• Implement behavior intervention strategies, including positive reinforcement, de-escalation techniques, and structured routines.
• Build rapport and motivation, incorporating the student’s personal interests into learning.
• Set achievable goals to increase engagement and foster a positive attitude toward school.
